(Insert catchy title)

Man I am close to running out of words. This past week has been H E double hockey sticks. 9 page paper for Advanced Interpersonal Communication, 4 page paper for Argument and Persuasion, 4 page article critique for Communication and Conflict, 2 page paper for Advance Leadership Theory, a paper for Constitutional Law, 3 tests, 4 blogs, read, figure out an event for RA, schedule room checks, work at Lowe’s, eat, sleep, breath, and a partridge in a pear tree. Right now I would like to take a quote from one of the most inspirational movies, Finding Nemo.

“Just keep swimming swimming swimming, just keep swimming swimming swimming.” — Dori

College does test your inner most responsibility. Being on your own does call for a sense of setting priorities. All I have to say to this: Come on December let me be graduated already!!!!

This is my college ring. I graduate in December.

My girlfriend, Bernadette, took this picture. Her idea…I think it is an awesome picture.

So I leave you with this catchy tune…Allstar by Smash Mouth

So if you have noticed i have been absent from blogging…

I apologize, I was deathly ill (not deathly but it felt like it). So the week after spring break was not so bueno for this dude. All I remember was a rock hard bed, being so cold and hot at the same time, and paying homage to the Porcelain God. Oh man what a week. I was one sick puppy. I was very hotblooded check it and see I had a fever of 103….or something like that…haha. Yeah so that week was horrible, horrible I say. I missed Monday afternoon, all day Tuesday, all day Wednesday, all day Thursday, and made it back Friday prematurely, I should have stayed home Friday but I needed to go to my Argument and Persuasion class for my debate.

Come to find out I had a sinus infection and a head cold. What a combo… Oh some good news came from that week… I made RA for the fall semester ALLLLLRIIIIGHHHHTTTT!!!

So, a word of the wise: Do not get sick in college, because you get far behind and if you do have to get sick make sure you have all of your work caught up. For the sake of the week I present…Hotblooded by Foreigner

Spring Break AH…hoy part Deux

So spring break oh ten was not that horrible. Yes I was stuck in the big O aka Odessa, but I do not recall a bad moment. I did get some much needed R and R though. It was a good week because my girlfriend and I had our 2 year anniversary on that Monday. So the week started off on a good note and continued on to end with a good note as well when I saw my little nephew that recently moved out to Cali with his parents. Unfortunately my bro was not able to come with my nephew and sister in law due to the fact that he is in train to become some kind of computer tech in the Coast Guard. I wish I had more to write but my spring break was that of tamer experience but all in all I would not change it if I could. So in honor of St. Patrick’s Day, it is my pleasure to present the Irish Tenors in their version of Danny Boy….Danny Boy as performed by The Irish Tenors

Spring Break…AH…hoy

Well spring break for was a real eye opener. I was exposed to real life. I did not go on any fancy trips to South Padre or Florida. I made just a quick drive north on JBS turned left at the second light and then a right into the parking lot of Lowe’s Home Improvement. There I clocked in and began my official `10 Spring Break. Woot Woot. Part of being in college is understanding that you have to have big boy shorts/pants and have to sacrifice the luxuries of a student. So I guess one could say I had a character build or or a growing point, but I just think I did not plan very well…haha. If yall have not noticed I put a link at the end of my posts to a song that I find very contributing to the blog, so do not forget to go back and check those out and give a gander at this one. I leave you for the time being but for all those people who work shifts; I salute you…..Shift Work by Kenny Chesney

SHAMWOW: What a Week

So here I sit either late on Sunday night or early Monday morning…however you look at it. As I sit here I wonder “Hmm, where did the week go?” This week has been a lot of work for me because of my Foreign Service Officer Test was Friday March 5th. And boy did it sneak up on me.

-I cannot for the life of me remember Monday-

So Tuesday was a day that blind sided me and hit me with a test in Advanced Leadership Theories. Luckily I was awakened before class by a fellow classmate and I had a chance to look over the materials. A little tip for the wise…ALWAYS READ FOR YOUR CLASSES…it helps a bunch. So the test went good and after class I went to work at Lowe’s. I got off at five and it was then time to go to my other job RA (DUN DA DUUUUN!!!!) Thankfully I had a slow night.

I found Wednesday to be a day of nerves getting the best of me. All day I was think about the upcoming test on Friday and leaving on Thursday to Amarillo. To my surprise I received my income tax refund early so I treated myself to a gift. I was thinking “Hey I’ve been good; I deserve something nice.” And so I purchased a GPS and now I drive my girlfriend crazy with it…haha

Thursday… nerves are running rampant. A cold sweat is on my brow. The dragon is upon me…oh wait that was my dream. On this day I awoke in Monahans at my parents house, got my oil changed, picked up my girlfriend and hit the road to Amarillo. We drove for what seem like eternity. Finally salvation came with the GPS telling us that our hotel is on the right. So I went in to check in….wait let me back up a bit. Bout a week before March 4th I paid for a room for two nights through an online booking site(I will leave the name out for legal matters). Now let’s fastforward to March 4th, 2010. So I went to check in and gave my name and all that good stuff and then the guy asked me for my credit card. So I told him I already paid for the rooms through the before said online site. So he called the company. According to that site I booked a room at the hotel Duk in India. If you have ever looked at a map Amarillo and India are nowhere close to each other. For the longest time the customer service reps could not understand what I was wanting. I went ahead and paid for the two nights and graciously the guy honored the rate that I booked online and upgraded our room to the Executive Suite. So after about 5, 5! phone calls lasting about twenty minutes each I was told that the hotel I was staying in was not going to charge my account. After all was said and done I only paid for 1 room for 2 nights and not 2 rooms for 2 nights. Finally, I was able to relax and prepare for the next day.

D-Day aka Friday started at 8 o’clock in the morning. Went and got a good breakfast, then went to find the testing site. The testing site was only 2 minutes away from the hotel..SCORE! So a little exploring of Amarillo followed since the test started at 1pm. Went and took the test…feel pretty good…will not get the results until about 4 weeks. After the test, we went to the Big Texan, home of the free 72oz. steak *If you eat it and the sides in less than an hour; if not fork over about $80. I did not attempt this heroic feat, but I did however do some damage to this 24oz. steak.

Saturday was a day of adventure went to the Botanical Gardens but disappointed when everything was dead or under construction, went to the Amarillo Zoo saw some lions and empty tiger cages and bears…Oh My! Afterwards we found our way to Amarillo College and realized that it was not as visually pleasing as good Ole UTPB. After some more site seeing we decided it was time for us to depart this old cow town and head back yonder to desert. But on our way back we stopped at Canyon to see WTAM and again I was let down by the appearance of the campus. Eventually we made it back with enough time for me to sleep to go to work early Sunday morning.

Sunday-work.

So with this week in review I leave you with a song that has been stuck in my head since Thursday, Amarillo by Morning by George Strait

Already Monday

Hello fellow human beings. I start my week with a mindset of OMW (oh my word). Yes word is right. I have a long week of papers….oh joy…. 3 papers, about six pages each. But have no fear because I have hope. Other things I am in desperate need to attend to is studying for my FSOT. A little background note. Currently I am in the lengthy process of becoming a Foreign Service Officer, FSO. With this career, I will be strengthening the Homeland Security by screening visa applicants overseas and additionally ensuring American tourist overseas receive appropriate aid if times of crisis emerge. But firstly I have a test to pass. The test is very similar to the college entrance exams any college bound student needs to take. Man, I love college. Seriously it is fun. Oh almost forgot I need to plan an event for Student Housing…hmmm….what to do…..Tarzan Boy by Baltimora
